About Me

Hi there. Here’s a little bit about me.

I’m an Associate Professor of Art at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where I have taught graphic design since 2004. I’m a graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (B.A. 1996) and the University of Iowa (M.A. Library Science 1998, M.F.A. Art 2004).

Between 2004 and 2010, I was the Lead Graphic Designer for Geotoys, a company that produces educational geography puzzles and games. I do an awful lot of art too. Recent and upcoming juried exhibitions include: The Wisconsin Artists Biennial, Rahr West Art Museum, Manitowoc, Wisconsin; Paper Narratives, Abecedarian Gallery, Denver, Colorado; Delineation of Experience, Quad Cities Art Center, Moline, Illinois; and Disguise Exchange Portfolio & Exhibition, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. And then, there’s the writing. Recent paper presentations include “The Winnebago Project: Infusing Sustainability into the Curriculum,” National UCDA Design Education Summit, Mobile, AL, May, 2009; and “Show me where you find yourself, and why it matters: Students map it out,” AIGA Response_ability Design Educators Conference, Toledo, Ohio, May 2010.

My professional interests include mapping, typography, visual record-keeping, found design, exploring new geography, and relentlessly looking stuff up.
